Sowing

Sowing is a method for growing plants from seeds. The process of sowing seeds requires a short preparation before the magic of nature unfolds right before your eye in astonishing details. It is a great visual education on the first stages of a plant's life and suitable for curious children.

There are different types of seeds that require different sowing techniques, for example: dry seeds, seeds that secrete gel, large seeds and tiny seeds that need to be mixed with soil.

HOW IT WORKS: GEL SECRETING SEEDS

1

Seed Preparation: Submerge the gel-secreting seeds in water and mix well to activate their gel-coating. After ~10 minutes the seeds will be ready to be applied to your tevaplanter.

2

Apply Seeds to tevaplanter: Press the gel-coated seeds against the surface of the tevaplanter. Due to their gel coating, they should stick to the surface without the need for an additional adhesive.

3

Initial Growth Stage: Place the Tevaplanter out of direct sunlight and the water level high the first week. Spray the top section of seeds with water to encourage uniform sprouting.

4

Growth Monitoring: Over time, you'll see a lush growth covering the tevaplanter, transforming it into a green, living showpiece.

HOW IT WORKS: DRY SEEDS

1

Germinating Dry Seeds: For dry seeds, like grass seeds, utilizing gel can significantly improve their adherence and germination rates. The gel provides the necessary moisture and support for the seeds to adhere better to the surface.

2

Prepare Agar Agar Mixture: Begin by mixing agar agar with boiling water until it dissolves completely. This mixture will serve as a growth medium for the seeds.

3

Allow Agar Agar to Set: Wait for the agar agar mixture to cool and solidify into a gel. This gel provides a stable environment to support the seeds and retain moisture.

4

Mix in Dry Seeds: Once the agar agar has gelled, stir in your choice of dry seeds until they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

5

Apply Seed Mixture to tevaplanter: Spread the seed-infused agar agar onto the tevaplanter's surface.

6

Seed Germination: After applying the seed mixture to the tevaplanter, keep the water level high, spray the top section of seeds with water to encourage uniform sprouting and the seeds will begin to germinate with time.

7

Plant Growth: As the seeds continue to have access to water and are in appropriate lighting conditions, they will grow into a full, green body of plants.

HOW IT WORKS: LARGE SEEDS

1

Select Large Seeds: Choose your desired seeds suitable for your climate and environment conditions.

2

Attach Seeds to tevaplanter: Use rubber bands to secure the seeds to the tevaplanter. Optionally, spread chia seeds or gel such as agar agar around them to enhance growth.

3

Maintain Proper Conditions: Fill the tevaplanter with water and position it in a spot with indirect sunlight to prevent drying out.

4

Observe Growth: Regularly monitor your tevaplanter as the seeds sprout and plants begin to grow, enjoying the process of your tevaplanter coming to life.

HOW IT WORKS: TINY SEEDS

1

Prepare Materials: When dealing with tiny seeds, it's preferable to germinate them in fine soil. The soil helps support the seeds in their initial germination stages, providing a stable environment for the delicate sprouts to emerge.

2

Mix Seeds with Soil: Blend the tiny seeds evenly into the fine soil.

3

Apply to tevaplanter: Gently spread the seed-soil mixture across the tevaplanter's surface.

4

Moisten the Surface: Lightly spray the tevaplanter to help the soil-seed mix adhere and initiate germination.

5

Maintain Moisture: Ensure the tevaplanter's water reservoir is always filled to prevent seeds from drying out and enjoy watching the plants come to life.

Key to success!

For the best results with this method, fresh seeds are crucial—they have a higher germination rate. If your seeds don't sprout, they may be too old. Secure a fresh batch of seeds for a more successful attempt.
